Nellore Chapala Pulusu (Fish curry)


Ingredients:
cat fish with bone -1lb
tamarind juice - 1cup
red chilli powder - 1tsp
turmeric powder - 1/2tsp
garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp
salt - 1/2tsp (as per ur taste)
cumin powder - 1/4tsp
coriander powder(dhaniala podi) - 1/2tsp
ginger-garlic paste - 1/2tsp
coconut powder - 2tbsp
coriander leaves - 1tbsp
onion - 1big
oil - 2tbsp

Preparation:
1) Cut the fish in small sizes & then wash them with salt,so that fish won't smell much.

2) Marinate fish with salt, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin, powder, coriander powder, ginger-garlic paste. Keep aside for 30 min.

3) Chop the onions. Heat oil in a saute pan. Add onions fry till it transparent.

4) Now add fish and leave it for 5-7 min in a medium heat.

5) Now flip the fishes with the wooden spoon very gently & leave it for another 7 min.

6) Now add coconut powder, tamarind juice, water. Don't put the lid.

7) When the gravy become thick, add coriander leaves and turn off the heat.

Serve with rice.


Tamarind juice-Soak 2 lemon size tamarind in water, microwave it for 1min and then extract the juice.

Tip: This curry tastes very well when u serve after 4-5 hrs or next day.
