Beetroot Chutney(Pachchadi)

Ingredients:
beetroot - 1big size
tamarind - lemon size(soak in water)
red chillies - 2-3
jeera(cumin) - 1tsp
dhania(corainder) - 1tsp
salt - as per taste
garlic clove - 1(chopped)
udadh dal(black gram) - 1tsp
Seasoning:
curry leaves - 1 string
mustard seeds - 1tsp
cumin - 1/tsp
black gram - 1tsp
bengal gram - 1tsp
oil - 1tbsp

Method:
Roast jeera, dhania, red chillies, udadh dal and grind
in a powder. Add little bit oil to a pan, saute beetroot
briefly.Grind beetroot,garlic, tamarind, ground powder,
salt together into a paste without adding water.
Take out this into a bowl.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. When it pops,
add cumin, bengal gram, black gram, cuury leaves.
When bengal gram turns red, pour this on chutney,
and stir it.
Serve with hot rice with little ghee.
It tastes good with roti also.
